4 sweet stars!
OMG this was amazing! I have not read the previous book and I’m so glad this could be read as a standalone although now I want to read The Fall Up! So good!
First of all I love it when books include little nerdy stuff like this one had fun banters about Star Trek which made me really happy and also, it was so funny at times, I loved the witty come backs and the clever dialogue, it was perfect!
Henry is introduced in the first book of the series. He’s a really amazing cute, super famous with ladies falling over themselves even though he’s openly gay. But Henry is also terrified of flying, which he could not have chosen a worse career but he manages, with his private plane and trustworthy pilot. Until said pilot gets sick.
Enter Evan. OMG Evan was delightful! I just loved him, he was naturally sarcastic and sassy and totally not falling for Henry, which Henry could not be more shocked.
“Fame, fortune, fear. He saw through them all.”
Henry as a character was so confusing. In an adorable way. First of all he had this odd fixation with converting straight guys. Like, making a straight guy want to sleep with you made you the exception. Which, I guess it did but was that the goal? Even although he’s not openly gay from the beginning, he’s dating a woman at first and hinting at another big relationship with another person who is not her, so it takes a while for him to come out to Henry, but in the meantime, Henry thinks he’s yet another straight guy he has managed to convert.
“I only care because we all know how this is going to end. You have to stop trying to convert the straight guys. It’s always a train wreck.”
It sure is and Henry is not making it any easier. There’s a bit of drama and a bit of over the top gestures I could have done without but Evan is keeping it real throughout the story and it’s amazing. Plus Henry is a sweetheart!
