Dean’s book! Ever since I read The Deal and then The Mistake, I knew Dean’s book would be the funniest and dirtiest of them all and I was right!
“Fine. How about we go down on each other instead?”
“How about you leave?”
“Counter offer—I stay and we dry hump.”
Hannah’s friend Allie is newly single and her rebound is, who else, Dean Di-Laurentis!
“Seriously, just find yourself a rebound.” Dean whips up his arm. “I volunteer as tribute.”
I love how funny these books are without trying too hard and Dean is so freaking funny – the sexy part is a given at this point. I mean, if you want a rebound you might as well go hard or go home, which is what Allie seems to be doing with Dean. Dean is the player, there’s no doubt about it. And he’s of course okay with being Allie’s rebound but what he didn’t think about was the after. And I mean the I want to keep doing this sex thing with you after. Which if you ask Allie is totally cool with her.
I read this before I read The Mistake, because I read a lot of reviews and they put me off to be honest and it turned out to be true, that book felt a bit awkward in comparison to The Deal and now The Score but after having read all three of them (THAT CLIFFHANGER THOUGH OMG!) I can honestly say they are hands down brilliant. Elle Kennedy can deliver a good book with fresh material but familiar themes that have extra humor and lots of banter to keep things interesting and it’s so effortless, I can’t stress this enough!
This book, again, was clear of all the in your face cliches. And the banter, seriously, the dialogue is brilliant, so effortless and refreshing!
“Garrett: Allie’s gonna crash in my room.
Garrett: Your dick can stay in your room.”
And some swoon.
“All my senses are filled with her—her sounds, her smell, her touch. Her.”
And something in between.
“You’re lucky I love you, babe.
If any other girl had done this to me –”
“You love me? You just said it.”
“I … Well, damn. I guess I did.”
“Did you mean it? I want to hear it again.”
“Aw shit, babe. Don’t make me say it again.
It’s bad enough I said it first.”
Overall, the writing is amazing, the boys are OMG amazing, the girls are badass and the humor is a brilliant bonus. Also, Garret & Hannah, seriously I need to erase The Deal from memory and re-read it for the first time ♥
